Gold Standard does not work with individual auditors. You can approach any of our approved Validation Verification Bodies to seek affiliation with them. They all have their own training programs for auditors, but it would help if you already know about the standard you wish to audit.
Gold Standard does not have a full training syllabus for auditors.
There are 2 different aspects to Gold Standard certification:
- GHG emission reductions - Gold Standard does not provide specific training for this - the most relevant training is based on ISO14064/5/6.
- Safeguards and sustainability - for Gold Standard-specific requirements:
- you can see here a study guide/exam prep with the most relevant documents of our standard that you should review in order to understand the workings of the standard: https://globalgoals.goldstandard.org/become-a-vvb/
- you can find a few videos explaining different parts of the standard here: https://globalgoals.goldstandard.org/training-and-support-webinars-vvbs/
Once you feel confident about your knowledge of the standard, and you have a VVB to be affiliated with, you can take the online exam.
Gold Standard endeavours to organise VVB trainings in person once a year, based on specific GS4GG requirements and with the aim to calibrate between different auditors.
