A CDM project/CPA shall undergo renewal of its crediting period under Gold Standard for the Global Goals (GS4GG) following a 5 year crediting cycle. This is further explained using the examples below:
The maximum crediting period for a Community Services Activity (CSA) project under GS4GG is 15 years. A CSA transitioning to GS4GG, shall follow crediting period cycle as below –
EXAMPLE 1: RENEWABLE CREDITING PERIOD
A CDM CSA project registered with 7X3 = 21 year crediting period.
If the start date of the 1st crediting period is 01/01/2018, the first crediting cycle under GS4GG will end after 5 years, the 2nd crediting period starts on 31/12/2022 and the 3rd crediting period on 30/12/2027 -- see table below.
CP start date | 1st CP | 2nd CP | 3rd CP | CP end date
CDM | 7 Yr CP cycle | 01/01/2018 | 30/12/2024 | 29/12/2031 | 27/12/2038 |
GS4GG | 5 yr CP cycle | 01/01/2018 | 31/12/2022 | 30/12/2027 | 28/12/2032 |
EXAMPLE 2: FIXED CREDITING PERIOD
A CSA project registered with 10-year fixed crediting period under CDM.
If the start date of crediting period is 01/01/2018. This project must convert to a renewable cycle under GS4GG; the first crediting cycle will end after 5 years and the 2nd crediting period starts on 12/31/2022. The project will be able to claim a maximum crediting period of 10 years across both Standard -- see table below.
CP start date | 1st CP | 2nd CP | CP end date
CDM | 10 yr fixed | 1/1/2018 | NA | 30/12/2027 |
GS4GG | 5 yr cycle | 1/1/2018 | 31/12/2022 | 30/12/2027 |
